Everybody Loves a Stache

Man,

There has been a lot of excitement about the Moustache-athon. I haven’t even started officially growing the Stache (Nov 4 people), but people are already checking out my normal 5′oclock shadow to divine the quality of my future Stache. The consensus is that i will look baaaaad.

AND you, my blog readers, have been very generous. So far I have raised $325 in straight up donations, and another $265 in pledges. That is amazing. A major thank you to Dave L., my former law school mentor and an owner of a righteous Stache himself, who gave a very generous donation.

But we are just getting started!. My moustache-athon begins November 4th and I need your help to raise as much money as possible for ImprovBoston. E-mail those pledges to marcelosmoustache@gmail.com

1st Pledge

All right, one of my co-workers who sports his own rugged facial hair has given the first pledge.  So the great Moustache-athon is on its way.  Just to be clear there are three main ways to pledge:

1. Pledge a certain amount by the day (max 30 days) so that every day i go without displaying my babyface whisker free, I earn money for ImprovBoston.

2.  Pledge a certain amount to be received after X days, so that the theater only receives money if I last X amount of days (again Max 30)

These pledges should be  sent to the Stache e-mail address so I can keep track: marcelosmoustache@gmail.com

3. You can just straight up visit my donor page linked on the right to donate just because you think this is a great idea for a great organization.  If you do donate to the webpage, please leave a comment so I know that you donated and may thank you properly. For some reason the website has not been e-mailing me the stats on my donations received thus far.

The Last Time I tried to grow facial hair

So to get those donations coming and to illustrate how poorly hair on my face grows, i thought i would publish some embarrassing past forays into facial hair.

This is an old ID picture. For some reason I thought it was a good idea to grow a chin strap, and then to memorialize it forever in ID form. Good Call.

The lighting is bad, but this is an attempt at a Stache goatee combo.

For some reason it won’t upload the triumphant return of my Abe Lincoln chinstrap. I think it is because it looked so terrible, WordPress is banning it.

Pledge Drive

Hello friends, acquaintances, and moustache afficianados,

I belong to a fantastic organization in Cambridge, MA named ImprovBoston.  We have been cracking people up in the Boston area for 25 years.  Right now we are trying to move into a roomier confines (bathrooms that are large enough for humans, a bar) in Central Square.  However we need to raise a lot of money in order to do so.

So to raise some money, I have decided to grow a moustache. This will be like those Read-athons you might have done in elementary school. I will shave on November 4th, and then not again as long as I can stand it. Not only will I be miserable, but I will look utterly ridiculous. My love of the theater is so, that I am willing to make the sacrifice.
